NEW: 4K WebM videos with alpha. A separate download with a 4096 px, 60 fps VP9 WebM with a transparent background for every animation in this pack. Plays with transparency in OBS, Godot 4, browsers and most video editors.

Limited-time bundle: this pack plus 11 more game VFX packs in the Game VFX Mega Bundle for $54.99 instead of $181.89 (save 69 percent). Or get every SEAMPROOF product for $109.99.

WHAT YOU GET: 40 effect variants in one download.

  • 8 fire and explosion effects x 5 colours (Inferno, Blue Flame, Green Fire, Hellfire, Solar) as 2048 and 4096 sprite sheets plus 256 and 512 px frames.
  • Native 4K PNG frames of every effect in its default colour.
  • Unity package (Unity 6, Built-in and URP): sliced sheets, animation clips, prefabs, flipbook shader and demo scenes. Import-tested: all 80 clips checked.

Below is the original write-up of the eight effects.

Fire that burns like fire and explosions that have a before and an after. Pyroclast is eight combustion animations, each delivered in its default colour, rendered at native 4096 px and 60 fps with straight alpha. Smoke, dust and lava crust are real occluding layers, so they darken whatever is behind them in any engine. Watch the actual delivered animation in the previews.

Try the complete free Ember Puff (Inferno), then upgrade for all eight animations.

Eight motions

  • Fireball Burst (4096 x 4096, 48 frames): a round detonation. A white core flash and a thin shock ring, then a fire shell boils outward with ridged turbulence, cooling from the outside in: the outer shell turns to black rolling smoke while fire keeps burning through the gaps, lighting the smoke around it, until the smoke thins to wisps. 320 embers and 48 burning chunks are flung out under gravity.
  • Ground Blast (4096 x 4096, 48 frames): an explosion on the ground seen from slightly above. A flash, a flattened shock ring racing across the ground, a fire dome that rises into a mushrooming smoke column, a wall of dust rolling outward behind the shock, 200 embers, 30 burning chunks and 120 dark dirt clods arcing out and landing at their own depth. The column and dust linger and dissolve.
  • Shockwave Ring (4096 x 4096, 48 frames): a clean impact ring for hits and UI. A centre flash with 18 radial spokes that fade in ten frames, a crisp hairline crest on the main ring, three wavering heat ripples trailing inside it and a faint field of refractive ridges. No smoke, so it composites over anything.
  • Ember Puff (4096 x 4096, 48 frames): a small soft fire poof the size of a hit marker. A flash, a rising cloud of tongues that erodes into pockets, 160 sparks and 24 slow embers drifting up, a thin wisp of smoke that dissolves. Keeps within the centre third of the frame.
  • Napalm Splash (4096 x 4096, 48 frames): liquid fire hits the ground and splashes outward. Ten droplets arc out on real ballistics and each one ignites a low pool where it lands, with the far pools landing later; the pools burn low with their own flicker, embers and thin smoke for the rest of the clip, then burn out over the last eight frames.
  • Campfire (4096 x 4096, 128-frame seamless loop): a believable fire. Five tongues of different widths and heights lick upward from a shared base, each breathing on its own periodic rhythm, over a bed of coals whose cracks pulse. Inner glow pooled at the base and 260 embers rising with a wobble.
  • Torch Flame (4096 x 4096, 128-frame seamless loop): a tall narrow flame on a portrait footprint inside the square frame. Laminar at the base, turbulent at the tip, with three gusts per loop that tear the tip into detached tongues, a white-hot wick point and a soft halo. Steady enough to sit in a wall sconce.
  • Lava Pool (4096 x 4096, 128-frame seamless loop): a slow bubbling pool seen at a slant. A dark crust with a connected network of glowing cracks whose glow travels in a slow wave, six bubbles per loop that swell under the crust, burst in a flash of sparks and cool back to crust, and embers drifting up through the heat.

Colour

Every motion ships in Inferno (orange, yellow, white). Cores stay white-hot; the glow, the lit smoke and the sparks carry the hue; smoke, dust and crust are a dark occluding layer. Hellfire, Blue Flame, Green Fire and Solar are rendered from the same simulation and will be added to this pack as free updates.

How the fire is built

Flames are ridged 4-D noise advected upward through a teardrop envelope that the noise eats into tongues, so every flame has internal filament structure at native 4K, not a soft blob. Explosions attach their turbulence to the expanding shell and erode the fire into pockets from the outside in; smoke takes over where the fire has gone and dissolves into wisps rather than fading. Loops drive every noise field around a circle in the fourth dimension, so frame 128 equals frame 0 exactly.

What you get

  • 576 native 4K RGBA PNG frames (48 per one-shot, 128 per loop), 4096 x 4096 px.
  • Sprite sheets at 4096 and 2048 px for every animation: 8 x 8 grids of 512 px cells. Loops ship as two sheets. Unused cells are transparent.
  • Loose 512 px and 256 px sequences, 1080p MP4 previews, GIF previews and contact sheets.
  • JSON metadata per animation: frame count, fps, playback mode, pivot, sheet layout; a pack manifest.
  • An offline browser viewer for every motion and variant with playback, scrubbing, additive or alpha blend and background checks.
  • Godot 4 helper script, Unity and Unreal import notes, a VERIFICATION.txt per animation.

Straight alpha, no dark halo

The colour under fully transparent pixels is bled outward from the effect, so filtering, mipmaps and downscaling never grow a dark fringe. Smaller sizes were produced in linear light on premultiplied colour and un-premultiplied afterwards, then measured.

Measured before packaging

  • no frame touches the border
  • every one-shot ends on a fully transparent frame; loops are periodic by construction
  • no duplicate consecutive frames
  • transparent pixels next to the effect carry the effect's colour, not black

Drop in

Unreal: FlipBook node (8 x 8). Unity: Sprite Editor grid slice or Texture Sheet Animation. Godot: the included script or AnimatedSprite2D from sheet. Use alpha blending for the motions with smoke, dust or crust (Fireball Burst, Ground Blast, Napalm Splash, Lava Pool); additive suits Shockwave Ring, Ember Puff, Campfire and Torch Flame.

Free sample: Ember Puff in Inferno includes all 48 native 4K frames, sheets, loose frames, preview video, metadata, viewer, engine helpers and the same license as the full pack.

Commercial use is included. Use the animations in your games and other finished projects. Attribution is optional. Do not resell or redistribute the asset files as an asset pack. The included license gives the full terms.
