A plasma core held inside a spinning containment ring, with eight coil electrodes around it: arcs crawl between neighbouring coils and, eight times per loop, one coil discharges straight into the core. Arc Reactor is one seamless 128-frame loop at 60 fps for power cores, reactors, sci-fi machinery, shields, portals, charging stations, HUD centrepieces and menu backgrounds. Watch the actual delivered animation in the preview.

The delivered loop, shown at 15 fps (the files are 60 fps)

What is in the loop

  • A plasma core: interior filaments, a hot rim and a soft pulse, built from four-dimensional noise so the loop closes without a crossfade.
  • A containment ring: a torus of plasma with filaments streaming around it, one full revolution per loop, hairline guide rings inside and outside it.
  • Eight coil electrodes rotating one coil step per loop, pulsing out of phase, with arcs between neighbouring coils that re-form at 30 Hz.
  • Eight coil-to-core discharges per loop, each with branches that die outward and an impact flash on the core.
  • 220 orbiting sparks on two radii with periodic wobble and flicker.

Every rotation, pulse, arc seed and noise coordinate completes an exact number of cycles in 128 frames, so frame 128 equals frame 0 and the loop is seamless by construction.

Paid native 4K version

  • 128 native 4096 x 4096 RGBA PNG frames, rendered directly at this resolution with an exact distance-field rasteriser for the arcs and five-octave bloom.
  • Two 4096 x 4096 sprite sheets: 8 x 8 grids of 512 px cells, 64 frames each.
  • Matching 2048 x 2048 sheets with 256 px cells, plus loose 512 px and 256 px sequences.
  • A 4096 x 4096 60 fps WebM with alpha (VP9) and a 1080p MP4 preview.
  • Straight alpha, 2.133-second seamless loop at 60 fps, fixed view and framing, pivot at the frame centre.
  • JSON metadata with frame order, frame rate, playback mode and pivot; an offline viewer with playback and scrubbing; GIF preview; Godot 4 helper and documented Unity and Unreal import steps.

Free game-resolution version

The same complete loop at 512 px and 256 px, both game sprite sheets, metadata, viewer and commercial license. Native 4096 px individual frames and the 4K WebM are paid-only. A 4096 px sprite sheet contains 512 px cells; it is different from a native 4096 px individual frame.

Straight alpha, no dark halo

The colour under fully transparent pixels is bled outward from the effect, so filtering, mipmaps and downscaling never grow a dark fringe. Smaller sizes were produced in linear light on premultiplied colour and un-premultiplied afterwards.

Measured before packaging

  • no frame touches the border
  • the loop is periodic by construction; the per-frame step is uniform with no jump at the seam
  • no duplicate consecutive frames
  • transparent pixels next to the effect carry the effect's colour, not black

Commercial use is included in both versions. Use the animation in games and other finished projects. Attribution is optional. Standalone asset redistribution or resale is prohibited. See the included license for full terms.
